#85 The Valuable Things

Hello, friends.

This is the last Notes from the Field of 2019. I’ll be on break until after the first. See you in 2020!

What I’m Learning/Doing

At critical moments in time, you can raise the aspirations of other people significantly, especially when they are relatively young, simply by suggesting they do something better or more ambitious than what they might have in mind. It costs you relatively little to do this, but the benefit to them, and to the broader world, may be enormous. This is in fact one of the most valuable things you can do with your time and with your life. ~ Tyler Cowen

This quote by Tyler Cowen is one of my favorite of all time.

Those words personify why I was drawn to marketing in it’s highest form — it having the ability to inspire people to believe more of themselves and others.

And more recently, those words capture the work I’m learning to do and improve across the companies now.

A focused effort on recognizing and being tuned into those critical moments is a primary growth area for me in 2020.

Speaking of 2020…

Over the holidays, Sherry and I will look back on 2019, reflect on our themes, and invest time into choosing our ones for 2020. Do you have an annual planning routine?

Changelog

Honestly: We’re winding down any final production work until January, save for emergencies.

LOFT: We’re onboarding the Customer Success Manager who started last week. She’s already jumping into support and has a great mindset for digital property management.

CrewPay: We’re ready to file 1099s for our customers. The done-for-you service for filing 1099s is live! (If you’re interested in using CrewPay to send your 2019 1099s, let me know. Would love to help).

Pttrns: We’re planning for several big updates in Q1 2020. Last week, we began planning our MVP for Pttrns Studio. Look forward to revealing more soon.

Until next time.
