#27 The four questions

Hello friends,

I hope you had a wonderful holiday season.

Welcome to 2017.

For most people, the first week of January is about building momentum. The other week I ran across four questions Todd Henry had posted that I've gotten a lot of clarify from answering. I thought I'd share them with you in the hope they help you calibrate for the new year. Here we go,

What do I want to experience?

Where do I want to go?

What do I want to learn?

How do I want to change?

Spending time with these questions last week provided a lot of clarity. My wife and kids and I discussed these on car rides and at the dinner table. Over the course of a few days, we burned through the weak ambitions and cliché responses, ending up with answers backed up with "whys".

My experience is that having the "why" is the key. My commitment and discipline get their energy from the why. The stronger the why is, the stronger my persistence seems to be.

Here's to a wonderful year!

Until next time.

Honestly,

- David

P.S. Finally getting to the Phil Knight (of Nike fame) book, Shoe Dog. I love these entrepreneur stories. Plus, it's a great peek into how Blue Ribbon Sports became one of the most beloved brands in the world.

P.P.S. Still have my Dec2016 playlist on repeat. I'm not ready to move on.

P.P.P.S. This email automation tool looks promising.
