Focus intensely

Focus intensely on making the best product (and most useful) you can now. You can figure out steps #2-100 later.  I love this video interview with Mark Zuckerburg from 2005. He is the founder of a college directory product called “The Facebook.” Ever heard of it? Of course, we all know the story.

If you can’t see the video, click here.

It is interesting that Mark doesn’t have a grand vision to take over the world or create his own internet at the time. He was simply focused intensely on making the best college conversation starter.

I think we can easily get sidetracked thinking too much about steps down the road instead of focusing on what we are going to accomplish today. This goes for marketing strategies, business models, or any relationships. What good is a 2 year plan if you don’t make it to the end of the month?

I’m not saying you shouldn’t have dreams or goals of what your enterprise can become. Just don’t forget to execute the “now”.

I hope you enjoy this and leave your thoughts about the video in the comments below.
